May 31, Saturday Tea Kabuki / Sayama (Tanaka Tea Farm)
Just like sake tasting, tea tasting involves comparing different teas and guessing which is which.
Also known as "Tea Fighting" or "Tea Kabuki," this pastime that has been handed down since ancient times still warms the hearts of modern people. Look at the shape of the tea leaves and the color of the brewed tea, smell the aroma, and check the taste. Use all five senses to correctly identify the tea. That’s all. But everyone who join this practice will get so excited. Why don't you give it a try? This time, the event will be held in Sayama, green tea producing region full of greenery, in early summer. You can also take home the high-quality tea leaves served on the day as a souvenir!
